We are thrilled to announce that Botanist was recently recognized within the Wine Spectator’s 2018 Restaurant Awards, with an Award of Excellence.  The Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. Over 3,758 restaurants, located in all 50 states and over 75 countries and territories, were honoured this year for having outstanding wine lists. The awards are listed in three categories: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence and Grand Award.

Botanist was awarded the Award of Excellence for its extensive wine list, curated by the Fairmont Pacific Rim’s resident Wine Director, Jill Spoor.

“While developing the Botanist wine program, it was my goal to create a boutique list, with quality driven wines that express a true sense of place,” comments Jill Spoor, Wine Director. “It is an honour to bring together a list of special wines and exclusive labels that highlight wineries that practice sustainable, organic or biodynamic farming and winemaking. Each maintains a serious level of commitment to distinctive environmental practices, which is reflected in the purest expression of their wine.”
