Our Story

Step inside Botanist, a world where day blurs into night, summer into winter, and food and drink are plenty. Helmed by Executive Chef Hector Laguna, Botanist celebrates the bounty of the region through its innovative menus. It is home to four diverse venues: a Cocktail Lab and Bar, Garden, Dining Room and TASCHEN Library.
Dining Room
Chef Hector's menus represent the abundant botany of British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest. Ingredients are sustainably sourced from their natural landscape and paired with contemporary techniques designed to showcase the best version of them. As well as the main dining area, a separate private dining room offers space for intimate events for up to 14 guests.

The award-winning Botanist Bar, recently ranked #26 on the 50 Best Bars North America list, features sophisticated cocktails alongside chemist-like designs. Under the direction of Creative Beverage Director Grant Sceney, our Cocktail Lab was custom-created to integrate a culinary-forward approach to Botanist’s cocktail design and production.

The Garden invites guests to linger in a glass-walled space filled with greenery, a trellis and dozens of different plant species.
TASCHEN Library
Located next to Botanist Bar, it is one of only two retail locations in Canada completely dedicated to TASCHEN, the publisher of the “most beautiful books on the planet”. Available by appointment, the TASCHEN Library offers more than 275 books, ranging from artist monographs to sought-after signed Collector’s Editions.
